A few years later, she transferred that knowledge into the private sector as an associate attorney for Bryant & Kautz, PC in Metropolis, Illinois. There, Amanda expanded her legal expertise to other areas of civil and criminal litigation. She handled collection actions, foreclosures, adoptions, estate and probate work, and personal injury actions, while continuing her expertise in areas of family law.

In 2002, Amanda opened her own law firm and handled all types of civil cases, with the bulk of her practice devoted to family law and creditor rights work.

She continued to be retained in cases in Metropolis, Illinois, to such an extent that she decided to open a satellite office there in 2005. She maintained this office until 2011.

True Family Lawyer
Many attribute her excellent representation of clients in family law cases to the fact that Amanda herself is a mother of 3 boys, with her youngest having special needs. She continues to be a key reference in assisting with local victims of domestic violence and is a contract lawyer through the SIU Domestic Violence Grant. Amanda also continues her assistance to those who are indigent by handling pro-bono and reduced-fee cases through the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation.

Active Community Member
She is active in the community and church, especially in regard to musical activities, and serves on the Marion Cultural and Civic Center Board and is a member and soloist at First Baptist Church. She also serves as homeroom parent for her children.

Amanda served as an elected member of the Marion Community Unit School District Number 2 School Board from 2005 to 2009.

She was a former Miss Southern Illinois and Top 10 in Miss Illinois, and now serves as a judge for area scholarship pageants in the Miss America Scholarship Pageant System.

Amanda lives in Marion with her husband, Ashley Gott, and their 3 boys, Jamie, age 10, Alex, age 8, and Jeremy age 6.
